What is cellulite?
Can you get rid of cellulite and never worry about it?
The truth is cellulite is a progressive skin problem. A ‘progressive’ condition is one that continuously gets worst and cannot be “cured”. If you have essential high blood pressure, chances you will have to take blood pressure medication for the rest of your life.
The same is true for cellulite. To better understand why cellulite requires long term treatment, you must understand how you get cellulite in the first place. Cellulite is a condition where the skin on the hips, thighs, buttocks and rarely abdomen and arms of a woman look like orange peel. The worst type of cellulite, swollen cellulite, looks like cottage cheese.
As you can imagine, this condition causes a lot of distress for the body conscious woman. If you are conspiracy theorist, you will probably succumb to those people online saying that cellulite can be cured with just exercising and does not require any other treatment.
Don’t be fooled. Look at pictures of body builders online and you will see some of them have cellulite. So if exercise alone could cure cellulite why would the people who exercise the most have cellulite? I have treated hundreds of women in my aesthetic practice for cellulite; most of them came to see me after they have tried everything including exercise.
The development of cellulite occurs in five stages:
- Estrogen and toxic build up
- Enlarged fat cells
- Water retention
- Decrease circulation
- Harden septa
Most cellulite products do not address any of the root causes of cellulite. Results, if any, are very temporary. In order to get rid of cellulite for the long term, you must purchase products that will target all five root causes of cellulite. Look for the following:
- Supplements that detoxify the body of estrogen and other toxins, including free radicals
- Skin brushing, roller, or massager to activate resistant fat cells and help tighten the skin
- Roller or massager that helps increase circulation to get rid of toxins and excess water
- Massager that helps to stretch and loosen the septa so it doesn’t pull down on the skin causing dimpling
As you can see treating cellulite can be simple as long you get the right combination of products and keep at it. I am often asked what is the best treatment to permanently get rid of cellulite. My answer is always the same, discipline. Whatever approach you choose, ultimately your results will match your commitment level. If you chose effective treatments and you do the treatment with persistent consistent, you will succeed and get rid of cellulite.
Remember cellulite is progressive disease; once you get results, you must perform maintenance treatments to maintain your results and prevent reoccurrence of the problem so you get rid of cellulite permanently.
